New gEDA release (20041228) available

Folks looking for Linux-based EDA tools will be interested to know that a new release of gEDA has been placed on the web. GEDA is an open-source EDA project incorporating many tools used for board design. Tools offered by the project include schematic capture, attribute management, netlisting to may different formats, SPICE simulation, PCB layout, Gerber viewing, Verilog simulation, and digital waveform viewing. Amongst other new features of this release is a CD image of the entire suite bundled with a GUI-based install wizard which automates and manages the install process. (The installer works on RH9 Workstation and above, SuSE 9.1 Pro and above, and late model Debian installations, amongst other distributions.) As always, you can also download and build the source yourself if you want. RPMs and Deb packages will become available over the next few days. The download page is at:
