UKFSN

Hey, Folderol

Are you still on UKFSN? If so, do you know what's going on there? Neither Jason nor support seem to be answering mail these days.

I would suggest answering offlist if you prefer, but this morning none of the UKFSN servers seem to be contactable and nor do the UKPOST DNS servers.

No I gave up almost a year ago for exactly the same reasons. I'm using Zen now, more expensive, and more complex access to my site but much more reliable, and there is *always* someone you can talk to.

Well, I'm not Folderol, but in the last week or so, I have finally got rid of my last connection with UKFSN. I became increasingly frustrated with the lack of service you describe, and a few weeks ago, one of my domains, which was hosted with UKFSN became unreachable due to DNS failure. It came back within a day, but no word from Jason. As you say, he doesn't reply to support tickets. I managed to get through by phone once, and found him rude and unhelpful. I believe he's now lost interest in the business.

Thanks to both of you for your answers. It sounds likely that he's lost interest: I'd been wondering he'd sold out and I was getting no response because my details had gotten lost in the wash.

My domain names are hosted at SecureNet, which seems to belong to Wild West, so I presume that's independent and that I can simply leave that arrangement in place, copy my web pages etc to another host and switch the Securenet's redirection records to point to that. Ditto for email redirection. But how easy is it to extract broadband keys, etc from Jason (I'm using Entanet and quite like it) whe he's being so unresponsive?

Can either of you recommend a replacement web and e-mail host?

TSOHosts seem to have a good reputation - I only use them for an email server.

I use PlusNet as my ISP but TsoHost for all my hosting. I've been with them three or four years now, excellent. (I'm another UKFSN refugee).
