Thin White Line Top and Bottom of TV

Jan 05, 2006 1 Replies

It's a Sony 36XBR200.

Very thin white lines on the very top and bottom only noticeable when the picture goes to black or with letterbox. It's a PITA. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!

Have it looked at by a technician to determine if the tv has developed a fault due to component failure or component changing value due to age.

The tech will be able to determine if it is as asimple as entering the service mode and re-adjusting the vertical size to proper factory adjustment of overscan. If someone already 'tweeked' the set thinking the overscan was too great, they may have caused this problem.

There are not internal adjustments on modern tv sets except for the very basic Grid 2 voltage and CRT focus voltage.
