Sony KLV-L32M1 would'nt go into service mode. I tried the usual DISPLAY, 5, VOL +, PWR to no avail as well as a couple of other combinations after extensive googling for 4 days. i finally succeeded after stumbling upon a post which said: Turn on set Put into stdby with remote. Pull out mains cord. The stdby l.e.d will still be glowing for 10 secs until charg in capacitors die out. Once red led goes off, plug in mains cord which starts st in stdby mode, execute your "DISPLAY, 5, VOL+, PWR " string on remote quickly and voila, you have service mode with 2 new boxes in menu.
