Sansui dvd vcr combo

Sansui model #, VRDVD-4001, DVD will spin fast for about 20 seconds and shut down, cleaned laser still won`t run, CD won`t even spin, tries for a second and shuts down, anyone know the answer?

Bad laser pickup, not making Fok. Available as entire laser/mech assembly. I think it was priced at $99 plus s&h for the part.
