In a nutshell: Unit itself operates fine as a tuner, the VCR works quite well, but any attempt to play ANY sort of disc in the DVD player causes the unit to shut off. The power button won't turn it back on either. The only way to get it started again is to unplug the unit for several minutes, and once the display comes on, open the DVD tray as fast a possible to get the disc out before the machine tries to read it and shuts off again.
It's no longer under warranty, and is otherwise a nice machine. Worth repairing, I believe. Anyone out there have any idea what I should look at first?
