RPTV burn-in question

is there no way to get rid/replace a burned in Rear Projection TV screen?

Burn-In on an RPTV is the result of burn in of images on the individual CRT gun(s). They can be replaced, but that isn't cheap.

i didn't know they even have CRTs in these things! i work with arcade monitors all the time but unfamiliar with these! how much are we talking? and is it easy to replace these(all 3 colors, or usually only one)?

There's three liquid cooled CRTs, one for each color. You have to replace all three of them at once if you want to ever get the color adjusted right again, and usually the burn is on all three. They're usually about 300 bucks each and you have to do a full alignment after replacement. You might get lucky and find a set of serviceable used tubes.
