Princeton monitor VL158

Bought this flat screen LCD monitor as-is. Looks great, but is missing all red color (except on the OSD). I've never worked on a flat-screen LCD monitor. Where to start? TIA Steve

Probably the signal cable, check all leads. there is a ribbon cable that attaches to the LCD itself and it uses a clamp style connector. this ribbon cable can get pulled out and lose any or all of the connections. the OSD doesnt gets it signal from the system it comes from the firmware so the monitor is fine, its jsut not recieving that signal from the computer.

Thanks, but both the cables/connectors good.

Have you tried checking the signal path with a 'scope, on the red channel? it may be as simple as a bad input chip or dry joint.

Thanks all. Found one pin in connector bent over. Straightened it out and all is well now.
