My DVD Player Stopped showing Video

My DVD Player Stopped Showing Video ever since i tried using an up grade for it. It still powers on but does not function and the dvd door wont open and a CD is stuck in it. Does any one know how to fix it??? Thanks!

Is it a computer DVD player, or standalone? If it's a computer player, there may be an emergency eject hole on the front, or maybe the back (if you open up the computer.) Take a paper-clip, straighten it out, and push it into the hole. You need to do this with the power OFF. This will at least let you get the disk back.

For a standalone, you probably need to open it up. Sometimes, it's open enough inside to just push it open by hand. In some cases, it could be a computer DVD drive mounted inside, with a similar emergency eject hole.

Odds are you used the wrong firmware upgrade, or some hacked one if you were trying to enable something like region free? The drive is probably unusable and unrecoverable.

If there is a no_junk in my address, please REMOVE it before replying! All junk mail senders will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law!! http://home.att.net/~andyross

whoops..... what upgrade did you attempt? also.... obviously since all DVD players are not the same you need to post the make and model number if you want anything close to a specific reply. electricitym
