You could use the built-in Debug command (from the command prompt) to search your BIOS for text strings such as "AMI", "Award", "AWARD", etc.

For example, this is how I found my motherboard info (edited for clarity):

The BIOS ID string identifies the model as an M571, and the manufacturer as "001437", which Wimsbios.com tells me is PCChips.

No the problem is it won't turn on the fans come on but no screen so I need to start from scratch because there is no BIOS screen. It did boot up a couple of times after leaving the BIOS battery out for a few days but the died again.

It would have helped if you told us the real problem to start with.

Does it work with an external monitor? If not, I would watch Ebay for the same model of laptop with a broken screen and swap motherboards. There is no service data for laptop motherboards, and if you were capable of troubleshooting one you wouldn't have to ask any questions. Very few people have the time, special tools and parts available to do these repairs, so the buy junkers and swap parts..
