Magnavox TV MS3252S431 Won't Turn On

Hi,

I have a Magnavox TV model MS3252S431 ch L01-1UAC-7638 (mfg Jan 2004) in my shop. It won't turn on. Fuse ok. Reg B+ is 128V after power button pressed. H.O.T. is not shorted and there is horizontal drive (apx 3V P-P) at the base of H.O.T. for a short period after the power button is pressed. There is continuity between B+ and collector of H.O.T. Note: I have no SM.

Thanks in advance, Brad

Suggest that you make certain that vert defl is powering up..... getting v drive signal from jungle. Also verify that v out chip or surrounding circuitry is not shorted and that flyback derived B+ is getting to it. electricitym . . .

One "work around" would be to unplug it (to turn it off) or visit an electronics store such as Radio Shack and to see if they still sell a cord that plugs into an outlet. The plug has an outlet built into it. You plug the television into that outlet. At the other end of the cord--there is an on/off switch. I have one on the bedroom television that does not have a remote control. I can turn off the television without getting out of bed. Some people use them to turn off lamps without getting out of bed. Jason: WHAT????? How is that going to fix the problem of not turning on? Re-read the OP..... you will see that this is not going to be solved by going to Radio Shack. The suggestions by electricitym are a good start to troubleshooting this problem.

The problem is much more serious than a broken switch.

Jason Johnson: Don't sweat it...... sometimes I re-read the replies that I send sometimes and they are completely off-base and even to the wrong person....... usually MORE coffee does the trick.
