LCD Dead, Scopemeter Fluke 97 or PM97 Service Manual pls.

Hi,

I got a Fluke 97 Scopemeter, more like a brick right now. The LCD is not coming up; but power seems to be supply to the chips and also there is a curren use of about 300ma. I pay $200 for the unit so don't want to spend to much more on it.

I been trying to connect to it using a homebrew optical to 232 interface. So far no luck. I think I have the wrong IR LEDs apperently I need 780 to 850 nm wavelenth LEDs and I have no idea what are my IR LEDs.

I was able to obtain the user manual from flukes web site: 93,95,97 User Manual.

I am looking for the service manual or any info on debugging the LCD probelm or just steps to figure out if it working at all.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

BTW, I have a good scanner and can create PDFs if any one has it in paper media format.

Thanks for your time and cooperation.

Hi all,

Here's a scan of my own:

Thanks a lot Franc, very appreciated!!!

Obviously my Scopemeter is faulty. Now with the service manual I'm trying to find out what's wrong with mine.

Looking for repair info on usenet i've seen that there are a lot of people with the same symptoms... dead lcd but ICs correctly supplied with 5V.

Maybe a common failure? Did someone has found a solution?

Thanks Bye Federico
