I am a new bee with embedded linux... pls suggest me how to start with... which software distribution should I use ?? Do I require anything extra than linux host machine?? what all extra tools i require?

You don't even need one of those (although it does make things easier)
You need a toolchain for your target arch.
Take a look through the articles and forums on
