EDK 6.3 project file growth

Aug 28, 2006 1 Replies

Hi ...

I had an EDK project which took longer and longer to load. In the begining this was tolerable as there were not many changes but this got worse and finally the project took over 1 hour to load.

I found out that my .xmp project file has grown to 12 MBytes (containing the same lines with LockAddr: again and again). Deleting most of those lines helped but the file started to grow again!

what is wrong with that? how can I stop this? ... did anyone at Xilinx ever use their tools for a real project?

bye, Michael

In a related note, I had ISE 8 creating GB and GB of project folders, during the wonderful conversion process from ISE 7 to 8...

It got in an endless loop upgrading a snapshot, as it automatically generated a sub folder with a new snapshot.. which was upgraded... giving another sub folder with a snapshot... which was upgraded... and so on until some hours later the harddrive was full.

Excellent. Good luck bug hunting. Ben
