HP 15116A Pulse Inverter

HP used to build a pulse inverter that would take a pulse and flip it to the opposite polarity. It looks to be a simple design, with just a single transformer. However, it had a rise time of less than 500 ps.

I'm thinking of adding a transformer to a circuit I am building to include inversion. Has anyone used this pulse inverter, or anything similar? Is it as easy as the circuit diagram makes it appear? Finally, does anyone have any recommendations on who would carry these types of transformers now?

Yes, it's as simple as the data sheet says. It's nothing more than a simple 1:1 pulse transformer, and can be wired to invert or not. The output pulse risetime is very dependent on the input pulse's risetime. Very small pulse widths also.

Thanks for the confirmation. I think I will try a couple of mini- circuits transformers. Their bandwidth goes into the GHz, and I was going to order some other parts from them. Since I'm not an EE, I am tentative about RF circuits, as I know their tends to be some "black magic" to get them to work.
