Privatization = competition = cheap. Government controlled = jobs for the boys = expensive.

What makes you think the government have your interests at heart? How many of their policies do you agree with? For all the major 5 parties, I agree with 25% of what they do. Not very good....
I agree with all 20 policies of Libertarian.
They don't. They wouldn't be terribly poor of they did.
It makes weeds grow too. Getting rain when you don't expect it wrecks crops.
Heat waves kill people too - recently they've started killing as many people as cold snaps. So do floods. Warmer oceans evaporate more water - currently about 10% more than they did before the industrial revolution, so we get more rain. The latent heat of condensation is what drive weather, so the weather is now 10% more energetic than it used to be - more storms.
Our power utilities aren't competitive - that wouldn't make sense - but are regulated monopolies. But they are very good.

they can buy the part cheaper than you can so it won't be much more expensive, even with their markup, but they are not going to get some garbage ebay special part and be stuck with the warranty and hassle that might come with that
Corruption is native to ALL people. What made Britain respected is that the British business ethic frowned upon it and generally 'cancelled' people found guilty of it. because the survival of the ability to do business depends on honesty. .
For an excellent analysis of how institutional corruption affects a nation, listen to this, unusallly by a Emutopian,
There are crops that do not benefit from increased CO2.
Insect and other pests benefit from warmth.
Try to think about things in a little more complex manner.
As if Britain was ever "respected" for its business ethics, or skils.

The totalitarian left is as enthusiastic about politcal corruption and lies as the totalitarian right.
Saudi Arabia is right wing, but they summoned a reporter they didn't like to their embassy and chopped him into small pieces
and the Natural Philosopher can't manage either.
Dont tell me another 'peer reviewed' article in a 'majors scientific journal' banging on about the evils of 'climate change'
The satellite pictures de-desertification in the sahel tell their own story.
To climate deniers the truth hurts.
Are there any peer reviewed articles on this? Most articles I have read go on about the continued desertification of the Sahel Region.
I'm not holding my breath.

I sometimes vote Libertarian if the other two choices suck. The Libertarian party does well if it gets 3% of the vote so it is a non-vote.
The LP members I've known personally tend to be slightly nuts and have a much more optimistic view of human nature than I do.
Not all conservatives are Republican and not all Republicans are conservative.
Power companies encouraging you to buy less power from them, ROTFPMSL!
How can them selling less power make it cheaper per watt?
I got a PIR that couldn't handle CFLs, nevermind LEDs. The stupid thing had no neutral connection and actually powered it's own electronics through the bulb.
I know someone who used to walk into supermarkets and take 100s of carrier bags, because they were "free". Technically it didn't say free with a purchase.
You can light LEDs in the microwave.
And contrary to popular belief, no harm comes to anything by leaving a spoon in the bowl when you cook.
The cap is 50p, I've replaced many of them.
Aren't they all (rough service) incandescent? LEDs would melt.
Ours do, they're paid per parcel.
And what's with the "mail person"? I suppose you have a personhole in the road?
