Western North American extreme heat virtually impossible without human-caused climate change (2023 Update)

This event is outside the realm of any possible explanation by modern meteorological science. The experts are totally flummoxed. So they default to calling it a 1000 year freak occurrence, they also speculate this type thing will become a 5-10 year event, and that climate change has increased the frequency of such outliers by a factor of 150 minimum. They're actually understating every bit of it. They're dealing with a completely new area of atmospheric physics /Earth interaction and have zero experience with it.

It could just be instrumentation changes over the last 1000 years.

San Francisco has moved its official weather station about 5 times so far, always into a warmer part of town. A forest of giagantic buildings surround it now. Not much vegitation now.

Or maybe we're all dead.

The official Seattle weather station is now MUCH closer to a Starbucks coffee outlet than in the '60s. And, the clams at the Duwamish outlet aren't recommended eating any more.

Makes sense. Starbucks was founded in 1971.
