More than 1 billion marine animals along Canada’s Pacific coast are likely to have died from last week’s record heatwave, experts warn, highlighting the vulnerability of ecosystems unaccustomed to extreme temperatures.



Similar happened in New Zealand last year.



Someone lounging in an air conditioned condo doesn't care much about anything like this. They *knows* for a smug fact the Earth has been MUCH warmer in the past. Of course that was a few mass extinction events ago- whatever they are.
