for second year students why not obtain state of art class E audio amplifier chip and configure and measure, and then cpmare to a class a transistor amplifier. compare effciency compare gain bandwidth, harmonics distortion, and noise .. analog

for digital analog why not a controlled delay on make delay on break controlled switch.

for power why not buudl two dc dc converters and sequnce the turn on between them.

these are real world design circuits and fun projects for the left over to build your circuit repetiore.

Why do you want circuits? All you'd do is assemble them, Betty Crocker style. A 2nd year EE student should be *designing* circuits.

If you met many of the second and third year (state college) EE students you would not say that. Most of the cannot assemble a simple kit like a doorbell.

What "state college"? When I was at UIUC things were a tad better. Of course that was before SED was a twinkle.

There are huge numbers of kids in engineering school nowadays. And there just as many potentially good engineers as there have ever been. So the doofus ratio is way up from what it used to be. They had to invent Computer Science to economically absorb the dross.
