Transistors

Name doesn't ring any bells... unless you're being punny... there was Hal Greenberg.

Let me focus on that. I was expecting that the base resistor would not have a lot of current, so low drop across the base resistor and Vb should be close to -10V. Am I wrong there?

Thanks, Jon

Helge (pronounce HELL gee) Granberg (AN-762, ARS-11D, et al) was one of the Moto gurus along with Roy Hejhall of Moto, Han Lee of RCA and George (pronounce SHOR shay) Luettgenau of TRW who were some of the guiding lights for those of us trying to bust the GHz. power barrier back in the late '60s and early '70s.

MSC (Microwave Semiconductor Corporation, now defunct) finally brought out the stripline MSC 2001 that (gasp) gave us 1 watt CW out at 2 GHz. and sold for the exorbitant price in 1969 of $75 a pop. And pop they did, on a regular basis if you looked at them crosseyed. I misforget the RF guru at MSC, but he was quite good.

Helge passed away a couple of years ago with note in several of the RF journals. A ham radio guy to the core.

No, it occurred; "most" is unitary. Do you believe "most" is a modifier for "unique" too?

I don't agree. It is also under the "discrimination" heading because it was based solely on skin color. By definition it is discrimination. There is no requirement that an action must fit under only one category.

"Most" "many", or even "many more" at least in English.

The same is true of "affirmative action". Though it too is an insidious form of discrimination.

Um, not in public.

and how the hell you cool

Copper and water.

How so? Vary the DC bias to modulate snap time?

Aw shit. The cb junction is forward biased for the plus voltages example. Well hell, i didn't have any attaboys to lose.

See me chastising my self. I muffed the polarities of the junctions bias, again.

Well, since that was part of my assigned patent of almost 40 years ago, and you aren't willing to share, neither am I.

Your patent is public domain now. My trick is still a company trade secret.

Well, it's stranger than it looks. Transistors that saturate well in this setup have high reverse betas, namely beta with the emitter and collector switched. Some do, some don't.

too,

I don't understand what you mean. Neither of us used "most" or "unique."

By "drag" I assume you're referring to the case of poor James Byrd, dragged to death in Jasper, Texas by a trio of murderous dimwits.

That was in 1998. The murderers were caught and tried. Two will die for it, one's in prison for life. AFAIK it hasn't happened since.

We're both of the same mind on this; I don't see any reason to quibble.

Are the two of you looking at the same datasheet? Figures 15 and 16 on the datasheet i just downloaded has no dipsy-doodles.

Ancient, primitive technology. We've been experimenting with GaN power fets, which cost $100 a pop and explode much faster than any silicon part ever dreamed of.

Well it seems to be the same datasheet, but i still do not see dipsy-doodles in figures 15 and 16. Please help me educate my eyes.
