snow

The bent shovels are the only way to lift snow. When I lived in VT I had a variety of snow shovels for different tasks. I only need one now, to sweep/pickup sawdust. ;-)

There's one (maybe two) in the garage, haven't had to use a shovel once yet this winter. New Years day was a record high temperature.

We had a white Christmas, but they really know how to deal with snow here. First, they only allow it to snow on living things (lawns, trees, no streets allowed). Then they know how to clean it up; wait until tomorrow.

Other than Christmas and a couple of days after, it's been in the 50s and 60s.

I'm not right wing. I'm a hang 'em and flog 'em libertarian.

Repeat after me, taxation is theft.

I think you've forgotten what a _real_ snow shovel is like, Jim. Four men couldn't lift a proper snow shovel if it had crushed stone in it. ;-)

You do have to limit the quantity, but a flat-snow-shovel-style blade works a pile of decorative granite just ducky.

Maybe you are weak and need to work-out more ?:-)

I understand. Mo says "could you tighten that cup hook?" and I head to the Home Depot power tools department.

Well, you _need_ to have one of those hex-shank cup hook drivers.. or the tools to make one from and perhaps to harden it.

I'd do it for 1-2". If I didn't get the driveway *clear* it would ice over until spring, which wasn't fun at all.

I have one of those somewhere (it broke, but still sorta works). I used it to drive 150 hooks into my soffits, used to hang Christmas lights.

Then they weren't very sof! ;-)

You can't fix stupid. You can't even put a band-aid on it, because it's Teflon coated.

No, IIRC, it was the driveway under the ladder that wasn't very sof.
