When is somebody going to come up with a way to store the summer heat to use during the winter, and store the winter cold to use during summer?

Don't know about bloodsuckers, but I do know why they've never found mastodon bones in Viet Nam. The cockroaches ate the smaller life forms, bones and all.

People do it from night to day with big rocks in the basement, but winter to summer would require a really big basement for the rocks.

We hit -10C in southern central England last night. Followed by 6 inches of fresh AGW.

The third winter in a row we've had this amount of snow in a single dump. The infrastructure is used to it happening every 5 or so years and since 2000 we knew this was going to be a thing of the past.

Last year was a once in a century winter. This year is once in a century winter. Clearly AGW is causing centuries to shorten significantly.

We were skiing at Thanksgiving in the sierras, on a 6-8 foot base. It was great... nobody expects snow this soon so the usual Japanese and European tourists weren't there, just the locals, and they were sending up empty chairs. It hit -8F in Truckee, a record maybe. We're today in the middle of another cold vicious winter storm... shook the house last night. We're expecting another 10 feet of snow up there from this one.

It just started raining here again. That will be snow when it hits the western slopes.

The UK is on track for a record cold December too. They moved the climate conference to Cancun, to avoid another snow embarassment, but it was cold there, too.

The second to last class day I taught in Truckee (23 November) when I left campus to go home to Grass Valley it was -5F. That night it dropped to -15F.

It is raining like the devil here right now and 44F. If this had all been snow right here at 3000MSL we'd be climbing out of the second story skylights to get out of the house.

My best guess is that the snow level right now is about 5500MSL.

It is a little warm, 61F in SF, almost muggy, almost sunny. Looks like a break. These winter storms often start warm and get cold on the trailing edge.

It's snowing in Kingvale, but that's most of the way up to the summit.
