Size estimation from photo

I'm trying to guesstimate the size of this thing:

It seems reasonable to expect it to be ~24" wide. And, as it is "short", probably 27U so maybe 55-60" tall.



But, the *depth* is the wildcard.



The pallet to the right is probably 48" deep. And, 41" seems to be a common depth for racks which seems *relatively* correct. Maybe 39?



Buddy with pickup is out of state so I'm debating if I can cram it into the back of SUV. Gonna be tight as a frog's ass...

Looks like it's probably bigger on the inside.

I had considered possibly driving it home from the inside out -- maybe even via another time (when the car was bigger!).

But, it doesn't look like I can get the doors open wide enough for the car to drive through.

[And, besides, it's too hot for a hat, scarf or overcoat!]

The phoito contains enough information to compute the relative dimensions by geometry. It's a problm in projective geometry as developed by Dutch Painters in the 1600s.

Simpler to just note the relative sizes compared to nearby objects and condition that with known sizes of racks.

But, what I come up with is *really* close to the car's capacity. And, whatever is hiding *inside* it (likely a large UPS) will just complicate the problem.

So, it will be a surprise, either way!

[But, I have a bunch of kit to discard so the trip is justifiable, regardless. I can likely always remove the skin to pick up an extra half inch or so]

Turns out to be 42 inches (it's got a decorative front that makes it non-prismatic). So, I'll have to either find a truck or tear the thing down (likely easier and more convenient).

Bigger problem is the APC Smart-UPS 5000 sitting in the damn thing. I'll have to toss that before getting it home. Likely weighs as much as the rack itself!

Fun "puzzle" figuring out which fasteners hold which pieces together! Thankfully, all the same fasteners, throughout. Smart.

Batteries inside look like they may be intact. If so, I can move them into my indoor UPSs (shipping charges for replacements is exhorbitant!). If not, I can recycle them for "core charges" (and the whole thing will end up being free -- save for gas and time)
