C'mon, you are an electronics guy, that should be easy. Something this would really impress her:

The previous owner of our house was a pilot and he opted for a low-tech ball on a rope for the "her's" side. Works.

Works even if there is a power failure...low tech is often best.

My wife is so short, driving the Q45 tank, when it tips up to go up the driveway, all she can see is ceiling.

How about a big convex mirror or two?

Or the gadgets that airliners use to tuck into the terminal, a pair of vertical lights that align when the plane is on the right track.

But no guide thing would keep her from running over a lawn mower or some such in the garage.

A laser with the frenzel lens, like the levels that go around corners. Just don't look directly into the beam.

They are hard to see in daylight. Why not use a tennis ball?

Try Amazon. They have lots of different models. I have one with two beams, one for each vehicle.

I've found that green lasers are pretty easy to see in daylight. They don't work worth squat on flat panel displays, though.

Low-tech 2.0 version: Two tennis balls on the rope, neon-colored. A green one at the end of the rope and an orange one 3ft higher. When going up the hill head for the orange ball, when leveing off in the garage stop when the green ball touches the windshield.

The ball in our case is mounted such that it lines up with the driver and steering wheel.

We have a similar problem but not with the garage. My wife is also petite and no matter how things are adjusted in my car she cannot reach the pedals.

The Q45 has automatic seats... she opens the car door, presses button #1 and the seat rises and moves forward to her settings. Likewise the mirrors. (Note that I'm relegated to button #2 ;-) ...Jim Thompson

I don't like this much electric stuff in cars. More stuff = more things that can fail. The problem with mine is that it seems to be built to be driven by fairly large people with army boots. Which is strange because it is a Japanese SUV and Japanese people on average are not as tall.

That will eventually happen to all of us except for the man cave.

Maybe Jim could use a dual but point them to the same vehicle path.

Alternatively buy two single units and mount the first one outside under the garage roof overhang. That reduces the chance of the light coming in at too shallow an angle and irritating the driver.
