Try Hong Kong, where you get only 26c, but at 100% humidity. It feels a lot hotter than 40c at $SMALLNUM humidity.

This particular "leftist weenie" copes just fine with a lot hotter than that. ;^)

Insults are shorter and easier to construct, particularly when there isn't a case to construct - as here.

Are you kidding? 100°F is only 38°C. 40°C in summer is normal here, & we've recently had 46.4°C.

Ayup. That's how you develop an immune system that can fight off just about anything. There's a reason why kids stick everything in their mouths. ;^)

Try Central Florida where it hits 95F (35C) with 99 percent humidity. Then add the bugs, and tourists.

Bugger that! Hong Kong was too hot for my taste. ;^) Malaysia was similar, but without the pollution.

Out your way. Here, we've just started winter. We've already had the hottest temperatures for the year. (Well, at least until December!)

This was the first winter I didn't have to run the AC 24/7. In fact, it hasn't been on since early December.

When I have a medical emergency, like acute pancreatitis, I go to the Long Beach VAMC emergency entrance, and EVERYONE there gets taken care of (or at least attended to) TODAY. (Yes, sometimes I have to wait for a few hours, but in the interim, if you're in excruciating pain, they'll administer morphine while you're waiting.

The LBVAMC is nothing like those reports of Bethesda (or whichever that crappy one was), probably because of the astronomical revenues they get from the port.

So, if you want free medical care, just be a veteran! ;-)

In 1968, I dodged the draft by enlisting in the Air Force. ;-)

And the medical industry routinely denies colostrum to newborns, snatching them away from their mothers, denying them their natural bonding, and starts beating them, exacerbating the problem. (or maybe initiating it.)

Did you know there's no reason to cut the cord or start abusing the kid?

A woman can have a baby underwater - hell, they've been underwater for the first nine months of their life; the umbilical cord is long enough to put the infant to its mother's breast, and it will start breathing spontaneously when its breathing reflex is triggered, like when the placenta starts to separate.

But the medical industry thinks it's wiser than Mother Nature.

I think Jim's glee was that he's draining the "leftist weenies'" war-chest, which he is.

And, taking the socialist medicine view, why not? Isn't that what he's supposed to do? Isn't that the theory, how it works? Equality for all? Or are the people who pay not allowed to benefit from their payment?

Jim, of all people, has paid for the privilege.

Cheers, James Arthur

Joking aside, the best explanation is that illegal immigration isn't a very significant disease vector. More flue virus is making its way across the border carried by the drunk frat boys coming back from spring break.

And its swine flu, because once these guys get drunk, anything is a potential vector for an STD.

You do realize that this strain is actually a hybrid of swine/avian flue?

Do you know what this means?

Pigs are flying.
