Puzzling

Leftist weenies apparently can't read. The average number of DAYS where the temperature EXCEEDS 100°F in Phoenix is 109. That's a FACT.

Except that leftist weenies can't endure it at any humidity level... so stay away ;-)

That might be the thing to do--expose the system by taking them up on their promises. Fold that house of cards.

The finances for those social programs are pyramid schemes; you just can't deliver everybody everything, for free, and continually pass the costs to later generations. But that's been our model.

And like Bernie Madoff's scheme, the first "investors" leave happy, long before anyone notices the coffers are empty.

Exactly! The problem isn't the illegal Mexicans, it's the Socialism.

I grew up in Minnesota. One year, (1967, IIRC) in April (spring break, which, before the onslaught of political correctness, they called "Easter vacation"), the family went to see the southwest. We got a room at a motel with a pool, either in Flagstaff or Albuquerque, and I was flabbbergasted that it was possible to go swimming in APRIL!

It was snowing in MN at the time. ;-)

Absolutely. The guys who come here are motivated, hardworking go-getters. The problem is we _subsidize_ them, eating up all our social safety net.

That's our fault, not theirs. They're just taking what we offer.

OK, my mistake... that link gave the 24 hr average temp, which I concede was not what you were talking about.

This is the data I should have linked to

I can see that over the 5 mths from May - Sept it would be quite possible to get an average of 109 days with an average maximum temp of 100 deg F.

I note that you could only circumvent my question regarding humidity and provide one of your typical smart-arse remarks which shows your mentality is lower than you think. For your information the average afternoon humidity for Phoenix never exceeds 24% during the months May - Sept which would be the period responsible for your average 109 days with max of 100 deg F. This humidity level makes it quite easy for anyone to bear no matter what their political leaning.

Ha! I've never met an interloper yet who could pop into Phoenix in July and cope ;-)

To the uninitiated, 100°F+ takes their breath away and they, fortunately, decide Phoenix is not for them.

Myself, arriving from Boston via un-air-conditioned Renault Dauphine, June 24, 1962, thought I had made a horrible mistake ;-)

But I quickly acclimated, and didn't buy an air-conditioned car until

1964.

I've spent time sitting in crowded Emergency Admissions areas - in Australia and the U.K. - and in the less crowded equivalents in the Netherlands.

One of my cousins is a doctor turned hospital administrator, who has been known to have interesting conversations with one of my good friends from undergraduate days who spent his entire career as a too- honest-for-his-own-good hospital administrator.

I don't need to make up stuff, and the stuff I think I know about in this area gets tested against well-informed profesionals from time to time. You should do as well.

Jim lives in a fantasy world, where Rush Limbaugh is a reliable informant.

My facts don't conform to his fantasies, so he thinks I'm making it all up.

You should really try to identify the "fact" that I've "invented" befor claiming that I'm a fantasist. An objective observer might find it difficult to differentiate your own - unsupported - claim from fantasy.
