Does anyone know where one can buy power strip enclosures? I want to build a relay controlled power strip. basically what I am looking for is the box for the outlets with precut holes for the power plugs....6 or 8 outlets would be best.

You mean like a 19" rack ?

The 'enclosure' is normally a plastic moulding !
Why not get a standard power strip and take it apart ?

I think you will find that these don't exist, as they're almost certainly custom enclosures. In any event, there's a 99% chance it'll be cheaper to buy a complete assembly and strip it down for a one-off. If you're looking to manufacture in volume, you probably need to have enclosures made.
Why would you want to build one from scratch anyway, when you can buy one with the outlets fitted already and mod the wiring for your purposes? Heck, Home Depot sells 6' power strips, and they've sold a variety that uses common duplex outlets, so you could even swap them if you wanted.

Why not buy it *with* the outlets and wiring, which you will keep?
Look at the Panduit and Wiremold products. They have surface raceways with standard duplex outlet punchings.
When I created my relay controlled power strip five or six years ago I just removed one of the outlets from a regular strip and replaced it with a relay socket and altered the wiring inside. Everything was bought on the surplus market so it took me a while to find what I wanted but I still have it and it still works.
