Picnicking under the Sewage Outflow: alt.binaries.schematics.electronic

Holding a discussion in alt.binaries is a bit like having a picnic under the sewage outflow pipe and then complaining about all the crap falling on your head. Sorry folks, from my point of view, it's an alt.binaries group and is going to have large volumes from time to time.

Here's the archive of the creation control messages for abse

Mark, I agree with you entirely. I don't know why all the squawks about the large posts. Anyone with half-a-brain only pulls headers anyway, then decides whether to download.

But "newtype" was a true dork, so good riddance.

Hi Jim,

The squawks are because most of the isp's limit the size of the queue they allow for newsgroups. I find that under normal circumstances, the posts on abse last for about 1 week. When newtype comes in and floods the group with posts, they last only about 1/2 of a day before they are flushed from the queue. I cannot be here to check the group every other hour to avoid missing posts.

Cox, even though they are rather incompetent, hold binaries for a week, irrespective of queue size.

So, your retarded, top posting ass has no clue as to what retention is EITHER. It ain't about what is local to one's machine.

It IS about how often the servers dump "old" messages, and what causes them to get "old". It also has to do with what size is allocated to the group by whatever server is involved.

Some servers only give 10 or 50 or so Mb to a group, and even if their retention TIME is high, their FIFO size is not, and the older messages get kicked.

You, if you have ANY capacity to grasp what you read, should consider yourself a bit more informed now.

That is, if your lame ass ever reads it to begin with.

Someone mentioned alt.binaries.e-book.technical, that's certainly where nt's crap belongs. If your ISP doesn't carry it there are some free or low-cost services avalable. Sign up at

for a free 50 MB/day account or a paid unlimited. They'll want your c/c number but they won't charge it for the limited account. Note that lately they've been using some experimental nntp daemon that doesn't go well with a lot of newsreaders. news://freebin.readnews.com is slow, but free. Forté offers 5 gigs/mo for about USD 3,00. I signed up a few weeks ago, well worth it. Poke around in alt.free.newsservers for other options, have an umbrella and waders at hand.

I was sitting at the company coffee break table, and the girls from production were picking on one of the secretaries, and they hurt her feelings to where she ran away from the table crying. Somebody asked, "What happened?" and somebody answered, "Oh, she was being picked on, and it hurt her feelings."

The guy I was sitting next to said, "It's better to be picked on than picked off." ;-)

Do NOT top post in Usenet, IDIOT!

LEARN the conventions and protocols of the forum you invade, before you interlope your lame ass into it. It ain't your email, it ain't IRC. Go back to either of those if you are that goddamned lazy.

You full quoted 170 lines, just to post your stupid CRAP. Get a clue.

I've been called that before, by dumb ass frat jocks at school. You must have been 1 of the 10 spammers that sent me hate email, "STOP your mother F$*king posting" "Get the F$*k out of the newsgroup"., and of course with no valid return email.

Or that other guy " What are you doing? My monitor screen wont stop scrolling? I'm using monzilla." Well atleast someone who I can send intructions to. Big files are cut w/ winrar, par files fix incomplete damaged rar files. Servers don't pass large file sizes, never have never will. I said that in a.b.s.e , but to no avail. You and the other spammers , would not listed to ... it's your newsreader, you have to configure your newsreader. NOPE Not us professional engineers. You don't have to listen to nobody. YOU OWN this Newsgroup. "Get the F%*k out of here, you F$king bastard" !!!

It was said before, add me to a kill file, I did to 10 of you asses who attacked. You accuse of me of cross posting? I stayed within a.b.s.e. whereas John Fields has got 10!? newsgroups in his list header. Who in the hell is cross posting, not me pal, John Fields. Just like you Jim Thompson, you always have like 5 newsgroups in your header, Spread bull where ever you go? What, because your a Professional engineer you have special rights? I reply to you tonight and all of your headers are on top, I see'm.

Anyone who Saw my postings, Saw in the Subject: ML4410 datasheet. That automatically told you is was a ML4410 datasheet. But you had your head up your ass. You and 10 other bashers spammers attacked me. Roy L. Fuchs .. that's original.

"Who gave you permission to post those files" . I don't have to tell you anything. I don't have to ask permission from No Body. "Your Dumb mother F$*king Bastard" ..quoteing hate email, might as well send it back to you. This is the internet, accessed publicly worldwide. I don't have to ask permission to go anywhere, you get that dumb ass. Your group keeps calling me a mother F$*king idiot.

I subscribe and unsubscribe with 2 clicks of a mouse. No body needs persmission to post files to a newsgroup on the usenet!

You are no body but a user , as I pointed out to John Fields, you and everyone else pays an ISP for a connection to the internet, usenet. You subscribe to a newsgroup. You along with all the other f&%k ups in a.b.s.e , are not , I repeat NOT a net god from alt.config, you are NOT a system administrator, You are NOT a moderator, You are NOT a god from Sysadmin.Newsgroups.net, You are No Body... but you 'order me to stop' posting binary files to a newsgroup created, I say again, created for binary files, executables, pics of gif, jpgs, PDFs. But it's ok for engineer John Larkin to post his pics of a $2,000,000.00 building in San Francisco? I don't know what a building has to do with electronics at the time, but I didn't care, so what. But YOU made a vow to attack me on and on and on!!!

It was clear to me and a few of my friends, look at the header, it says Signetics PDF. So it's binary, don't want to see, don't download? What the hell is the big deal with YOU ? Personally YOU! It's a damn binary PDF posted to a binaries newsgroup, Get It Yet, in your thick head? But no, you keep attacking me.

You accuse me of posting PORN, MUSIC, dumb mother f$*king video files. " Get the god damn f@&k out of here with that crap"...

They were datasheets? what's wrong with you? What Is WRONG With YOU !?!? A datasheet is not p*rn, a datasheet is not music, A datasheet is not music. Do you get it yet?

What this all boils down to is history of what has been going on in a.b.s.e for a long time now. A number of you "Professional Engineers" have decided to be a vigilanty group of protectors of a newsgroup. Without your permission, or aproval, no one is allowed to post any files. No Files without YOUR explicit permission.

This newsgroup called alt.binaries.schematics.electronic is for " our own special interest discussion group" NO ONE HAS THE RIGHT TO ENTER ALT.BINARIES.SCHEMATICS.ELECTRONIC WITHOUT OUR PERMISSION.

All of your close nit discussions should have been sent to IIRC, that's what IIRC was made for. But no. You will not allow anyone to post any files, "under my dead body." That is screwed up.

Are you one of the accusers says I'm cross postings all over the place? Hey look above in the Newsgroups box. I'm responding to you and it's going all those newsgroups You have joined.

And what about missing posts? I go back and a.b.s.e is practically empty? I did a google search for on a.b.s.e and back in Dec 12

2005, I saw a message "... there's not much traffic at all in a.b.s.e ? " There aint no body home in a.b.s.e ! You making it all up in your head? You full of imagination and bull.

Are you going to tell me your newsreader can't be configured to d/l all tagged messages to your hard drive, while your out for the 1 day ? If you did, then you might, Just barely get 20 or 50 messages in a week from a.b.s.e . What your spewing about is nonsense and you don't have a newsreader setup.

Your attacking me , because your buddies are attacking me. plain and simple.

Another thing, your happy that I left a.b.s.e ? Like a pig wallowing in crap happy? YOU! You decided to chase someone away from a newsgroup. Is that what the Internet, usenet, created for? For own enjoyment? (yeah one of them all right.)

I don't think this is a coincidence.

Here's another 'clearer explanation' of why files have to be split up into smaller files, Just like I did for the PDFs split up into multi-part rar files. You Don't Know. When are you going to start reading, before you sling your spew about, vigilanty Graham.

Unless you are familiar with file sharing, navigating and downloading files from the newsgroups takes a good deal more effort than connecting to KaZaA, searching for something, and clicking on the result. A typical download from the newsgroups will require more steps than other methods because a large file is usually split into many pieces in the following way:

If you're posting pr0n videos I can see why you'd know about them though.
