I love to cook with wine. Sometimes I even put it in the food.

That is to be expected! The sheeple have been taught that ANY contaminiation, no matter how small, has TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE consequences. This has led to several interesting corrolaries:

  1. Herbal remedies, no matter how small in actual concentration, can magically help you.
  2. A component in plastics that until recently could not even be measured, and which has no known biological effects, is dangerous and therefore should be banned because we now know that it is taken up by the body.
  3. All approved drugs are helpful and harmless, unless you have actually BEEN harmed, or someone has been harmed, and you see dollar signs from a lawsuit...

Anyone else what to get in on this? Charlie

Sure, I'll take a whack...

3a. (The Grise corollary) Unappoved (illegal) drugs are harmless and are often helpful and should be legalized immediately. Government only says they're bad because, well, there must be some reason.

Because the tobacco and ethanol merchants don't want their customers spending money on other ways of wrecking their health.

I once met a filter salesguy. He said they spritzed a little silver into their activated carbon elements, to make them bacteriostatic.

Interesting how one fear-based product leads to the next.

No really - it's all the same market, being attacked from every possible direction.

That is real enough - silver ions in tiny amounts do discourage bacteria somewhat. Although you really don't want to overdose on silver as agyria has a rather strange cosmetic effect. Goths and trekkies who fancy a seriously whacky alien appearance might like it...

Mainly caused by people overdosing in quack medicines containing colloidal silver.
