We are not far from the day when pedestrians are forced to wear a helmet if they want to go for a walk. Draconian democracies are very non-inclusive. Far less inclusive than the early Greek democracies that made extraordinar y efforts to include (in a meaningful way) even the lowest income groups as well as the richest. 2 and a half thousand years ago, in far more difficul t circumstances people had created a more function, more rational and faire r system.

You could make a bow and arrow from almost anything, trees to pieces of metal, it would be just as good and silent. It is all old women talk, from old women for old women. Those who want to kill will kill.

They must go to the same shooting schools as here. Seriously, we need guns because the cops can't shoot worth a s*it. When it takes 41 rounds to take down a nut with a knife, Man just don't even bother talking about it. You ain't convincing anyone.

Yeah, next bank robbery I'll get up next to one of the cops and tell him to give me his gun so I can shoot the robbers, becasue from what I've seen...

Yeah, wouldn't go over too well huh.

Ken Starr managed to prove that she wasn't guilty enough to jail, but Republican supporters can't remember complicated stuff like that.

That's part of his faith. It's hard to see how his belief or disbelief there would make a speck of difference to his duties as President. The President isn't in charge of building pyramids.

Some people believe in a deity, some don't. Virtually 100% of politicians profess to believe. Who cares? Who even believes them (most of them)?

It makes nearly zero difference.

We elected Carter, Clinton, and Obama. If we elect Trump, it will at least show a slow increase in the IQ of the US electorate.

Very slow. Romney was the best presidential candidate in ages, and he lost.

I'm waiting for the day when we are all forced to wrap our usenet postings at 72 characters. That will probably put me over the edge and I'll go off the deep end.

Too late for that. Self regulate.

Well, I suppose RICO laws could be used.

The US electorate elected Reagan for a second term when he was already show ing early signs of dementia. Dubbya was even worse, and dramatically dumber than any of Carter, Clinton or Obama.

Romney might have looked like a brilliant presidential candidate to the far right, but Obama's team only had to publicise his record of shutting down firms and throwing people out of work to wreck his chance of winning.

That the far right were silly enough to put him up at all demonstrates how far out of touch with electoral reality they are - perhaps not as far out o f touch with reality as John Larkin who seems to believe everything he read s in the Murdoch press, but far enough out of touch to be distinctly worryi ng.

Idiot! That has _nothing_ to do with stupidity..it is a case of laziness.

So you are stupid *and* lazy. I would never have guessed ...

I'm no fan of Hillary myself. But I'd like to see her as president just to piss off the right wing.

Rick

So you think we need to eliminate the 47% too, eh?

Rick

The Republicans are the party of big business. The Democrats are the party of big government. We need a party to represent the people.

You mean a stupid party? People are too stupid to govern themselves. So we are governed by those who know best how to manipulate the rest of us.

I'm sure this is not the first time Idiocracy has been proposed as an imagined solution to the troubles of the world.
