Sheesh. The Republicans sent Tricky Dick to China because they (China, not the Republicans) were afraid of him. Carter is exactly the wrong person to send to NK.

Trump has to be even more wrong, even if he isn't a Democrat any more.

And I don't think that the Chinese were afraid of Nixon. He might have liked to think that they were, but Dick wasn't nearly as Tricky as he liked to think.

Henry Kissinger had a lot to do with that visit, and probably knew quite a bit more about what was going on than Nixon did, and infinitely more than Trump could be expected to.
