No, you were just wrong.

John

Perhaps, but people who've been around awhile would guess that you're in his Bozo Bin.

Of course I am, I crush his narcissistic ego at every opportunity.

What Larkin owes you, and should demonstrate, instead of all this BS, is where the "excess charge" comes from.

It will be a pleasant surprise if he does. But don't hold your breath. (I don't think he really knows :)

What surprises me is how you other posters allow him to bully you. Question him, push him.

Have fun with him... he's not only a narcissistic egomaniac, he's probably manic depressive, just like AlwaysWrong (*). Maybe you can make him implode ?:-)

(*) Since Larkin "debates" AlwaysWrong so often, you have to wonder if Larkin==AlwaysWrong ;-) ...Jim Thompson

Yep. Got you right square in your narcissistic ego. You keep dreaming that you are still an engineer but cannot do the engineering follow through in reasoning nor math (or are to narcissistically vain to do so). Grow up, admit to yourself that you are a successful business type now.

I'm a circuit designer. I hire people to do the business and marketing junk. If I want a new oscilloscope, I just ask Rebecca if we can afford it. Business and money are boring; circuit design is much more fun, if you can do it. I don't suppose big companies are often run by tekkies, but a small one can be.

How about this?

This has the differential front-end I discussed with Win. He had a better way to trim the CMRR, but too late. I didn't do the FPGA, but I did suggest the filter architecture, IIR double-integrators, essentially a digital model of a biquad analog filter. Really, old folks can still design kick-ass electronics. Try it some time.
