Trouble is, it doesn't work any more, what with radio over the internet. Now, one person can turn on his radio, digitize the audio, and pipe it overthe internet to millions of listeners, and that radio station plate-current meter won't deflect any more than it does when one listener turns on his radio.
In fact, if I remember right, there will be a lecture on this problem 24 hours and 48 minutes from now at Yankee stadium, by Dr. F. Newton Farnsworth, one of, if not *the* world's foremost authorities. The theme of his lecture will be "The reverse coriolus effect as applied to RF spectral emmissions due to and stemming from the inception of radio over internet and the correlative innaccuracies of kL calibrated plate currant meters".

How many currants are on his plate at one time before he eats them?

We are all on their computer now so they just assume that any house without a licence /must/ have a TV rx.

Yes, well, the leaky LO is the "transponder" part I mentioned. Just an unintentional one. I was actually thinking of just what you wrote about when I posted. There are certainly cases where the transponder is intentional: TACAN and IFF systems, for example.

On 30/03/2006 the venerable Boki etched in runes:
Every FM receiver that you sell must have an automatic retractable antenna. When you switch the receiver on the antenna pops out of its housing and it has a little pennant on the top with a unique barcode. Your transmitter is fitted with a 360 degree X-ray barcode scanner with a telephoto lens and detects the receivers that are switched on. Now the receivers must be single frequency so that they can only catch your transmitter and no other.
On Monday, I am going to apply for a UK patent for this idea so you'll have to pay me lots of royalties. Once that is added to the $75 an hour that you should already be paying me for doing your Google searching and the $75 an hour that you should also be paying me for reading the results for you, I'm going to be very rich.
Bwahahahahaha ;-)

Do like the spy folks do and search for leakage from the local oscillators.
you should try to eat some s*it first.

Hey, boki,
You asked an incredibly stupid question, so you should be grateful that people took it lightly, when they could have just made the obvious inference.
If you want to come here and ask mostly stupid questions, and get useful answers to the less-stupid ones, you might consider trying to be polite; it's a good investment.
John
Nor more s*it? Just ask John B, he can help...
hahhahaa...

stupid question?
Think again....
May you be the smart one.

I've always been tought that stupid questions do not exist, only stupid answers. Being polite is always good.
Yours sincerely,

No, there ARE stupid questions. Those questions that are incomplete, or poorly thought out are stupid questions. People who do this repeatedly do not deserve to be coddled.
There are no stupid questions, only stupid people.
John
Those are the ones who acquired all they know by getting stupid answers to stupid questions.
Boki, I have watched your questions throughout the years and they seem IMHO the most ignorant ones on this forum. You always got a lot of really good answers, so there was the possibility to learn, but unfortunately I havn't seen any progress so far. Your replies used to be polite and thankful at least. Now you seem to have dropped this attitude. So you better do not come here any more, you aren't welcome any more and I have plonked you as well.
John, there ARE stupid questions. Some are asked by stupid people, while others just don't think about what they are asking. "There are no stupid questions, only stupid people." is just more PC crap.
1: The re-enlistment officer who asked if I was sure that i wasn't going to re-enlist asked me a stupid question. 2: The police officer who arrived after I was hit head on and told that from the damage to my truck that I should be dead looked at me, bleeding, bruised and missing part of my scalp if I was injured, asked a stupid question. 3: A deadbeat who wrote me a bad check and asked if I was upset asked me a stupid question. 4: My boss at United Video asking if it would be OK to cancel my vacation request again, after trying for three years to take some time off asked me a REALLY stupid question. 5: People asking if they had to pay for both parts and labor on a job were among the most irritatingly stupid questioners.Have something to add?
