This is one of those issues where we talk past each other a lot. "There are no stupid questions" is a reasonable thing for a professor to say, when he means, "We're all here in order that you learn something. You won't learn anything if you're too scared of looking stupid to admit that there's something you don't understand. We all promise not to make fun of you. So suck it up and ask!" It's a way of encouraging the timid, and as long as it doesn't cause expensive breakage or make obscene demands on everyone's patience, it's a good thing. (It also helps teach experts a bit of humility, which is also apt to be a good thing.)
It's not a reasonable basis for an epistomology, however, and especially not for a technology. Grown-ups need to be able to give reasons for their views.
Cheers,

I think "epistomology" would be the science of facial hair, perhaps?
Possibly interestingly, that little homily was originated by none other than Mr. Garrison, South Park's eighth-grade teacher. ;-)
Cheers! Rich
