It's a really big deal to fly long distance into Iranian airspace. And then there's the problem of positive target identification. They would need someone on the ground to make confirmation for the drone.

I am certain that the Israelis considered all options before settling on this one. Overkill is better than underkill - they fired "only" 15 bullets? Sounds like severe overkill to me.

Oddly Israel put fairly little effort into hunting former Nazi officials who had escaped the Third Reich over the decades; on several occasions they were close to them but pulled back, and they knew they were close.

Perhaps they figured simply letting them know they were nearby and keeping them guessing for years until they died of natural causes was the best punishment.

Not a good analogy; Hell is reputed to only take in evildoers, it IS somewhat selective.

A neutron bomb may be effective against point targets, limited in area, but 'selects' anything living.

It's not Israel's job to run around the world committing revenge killings. There were a bunch of vigilante groups who were doing just that after the war, but all they did was perpetuate the same kinds of crimes they were avenging.
