Looks to me that the europeons, the US public, and even the New York Times are awakening to the vacuum behind the teleprompter. Even Time Magazine has run a couple of issues without *any* Obamas on the cover!

Even if that were true - and there's no evidence to support it - he's still well ahead of his predecessor, who got you into Irak, which was a move of positively Olympian idiocy, out-stupiding even Vietnam. But Haliburton did do well out of it.

Haliburton made a lousy 3.8% profit on it's military services contracts while it's workers where ducking bullets trying to fix broken down equipment that Sadam never put any of his billions of oil for food money into. Other workers driving tankers full of fuel through a war zone. Do you know how nice a target a big, un-armored 18-wheeler makes that is full of gas? Why dont you go put your ass in the drivers seat and cruise around in a rolling RPG target for a while.

Quite missing the point, that an immoral nitwit like Saddam could keep order in Irak. while the US occupation force can't manage it. Saddam did go in for a lot of political murder, but never managed to match the current free-lance killers.

And Haliburton's "lousy" 3.8% profit is cost plus. Cheney and the other executives get to cream it off without being shot at, or having to worry about what might happen if the Iraki economy went into recession.

It may be widely held in some country outside the US that you visit regularly, but I've yet to meet anybody who shared that opinion in Australia or the Netherlands, and the UK Guardian weekly hasn't reported any such disillusionment in the UK.

That is *really* comical. As an Australian (and residing here in Oz although I was in the 'states during the election) I can only wonder what small, select and isolated Australian(s) you did meet. The only Australian I am aware of who shares Obama's view that the sun shines out of Obama's bum is ... KRudd the dud. And I suspect that is only because of the photo-ops he gets.

Do you read Murdoch's "newspapers"? When I'm in Australia I read the Sydney Morning Herald which isn't quite as enthusiastic about pushing a right-wing politcal agenda - even they don't much like the NSW Labor Party, but who does?
