Heartburn of the Day

Jul 02, 2007 135 Replies

I couldn't find it in local grocery stores for a while, so I used the rice.

I forgot the corn. BTW, I usually used instant potatoes in the soup to reduce the cooking time, and to thicken it, just a bit. Not ignoring the fact that I don't have to aggravate my carpal Tunnel with peeling and slicing the potatoes.

I eat some turkey, but the burgers don't sit well on my stomach. I'd rather use turkey in a sandwich. I tried some ground turkey in a pot of chili, and could barely eat it.

And how is this different from the rule of force that's going on in the US right now? Where the more heavily armed and more brutish win, and get away with murder?

Thanks, Rich

Oh, feh. Now you're just resorting to petty sniping.

I'm sorry that you were too stupid to see through the cons, but that just means that you're an easy mark, not that everybody in the world is out to get you.

Sheesh! Rich

What does "You can't cheat an honest man" mean to you? ;-)

Cheers! Rich

No, everything that causes me to "owe" a tax (which is completely wrong - I have received nothing of value from the regime, so owe them nothing) was an arbitrary decision some bureaucrat or politician made to forcibly take my money away.

I can see roads, but that's _SUPPOSED TO BE_ taken care of by fuel taxes, which is fair, since those who use the roads more pay more for their upkeep. And everybody agrees libraries are a good idea.

But other than that, there's no conceivable purpose for government other than to force people to behave in ways they don't want to behave, or threaten them with violence if they want to behave in ways that the regime doesn't want them to behave.

Overriding Free Will is the only true Evil there is.

Thanks, Rich

Yeah, that is the first thing Rothbard complained about in Nozick's argument: _No Evidence_. And Rothbard is correct. You just blithely assign *any* concept of law and order to that of "government." You don't seem to understand that your axiom isn't being accepted.

You're tired because you're running in circles. Break out.

(snip)

That is a biased point of view engineered to make it sound like the big, wicked government is oppressing people.

I prefer to believe we usually get our money's worth from agreeing with our Social Contract. Alternatively, we can all grab a pick and shovel to go help other so inclined people to build new and repair old, roadways, etc.

The government is in service to ME and every other citizen.

(snip)

You might become a good comic if you continue to work on this silly idea.

Well, yeah, I'm biased. I'm biased in favor of Freedom and the Constitution of the United States.

Don't you like the Constitution?

And, in fact, the big, wicked governemnt _is_ oppressing large numbers of people, by taking away a big hunk of their income to pay for pork-barrel projects and so on.

Thanks, Rich

I'd refuse to play to a roomful of statists.

Thanks, Rich

And this is still true.

You need to go read a few news papers about what happens in the US and a few other places. The US has its faults but it is certainly not the one you are accusing it of.

I understant that you are rejecting my argument. I've seen children reject that suggestion that there is not tooth fairy too. In the real world, there is no tooth fairy.

No, I am suggesting that your argument is foolish. You claim to have a magic power to see if people are honest. This is so unlikely that I feel I can reject the claim without further discussion.

No, it means that I did eventually see through the con. I didn't lose any money or anything in the process BTW. You on the other hand appear to have remained conned.

It is a lot easier to cheat a dishonest person but honest ones certainly can be cheated.

I'm sure he likes section 1 part 8. What part of "general welfare" don't you get?

If you didn't care you wouldn't be responding. We have statements under oath that say that you were wrong. What you claimed was BS and you know it.

Potato starch is a good thickener. It has a nice feel in the mouth.

I've had some I liked a great deal. Oh well to each his own on food like I guess.

I don't know what your problem is, but you're a fat-assed leftist-weenie liar who won't face facts... in other words, a typical leftist weenie. PLONK.

Its like some other foods that I can't just can't eat together. I like cheese in a few dishes and I like pasta, but "Macaroni and Cheese" has always make me sick to my stomach, sometimes violently. Like all the crap they put on burgers. I can't eat it. I've tried, and always got sick.

I can't explain it, I just have to plan around the problems.

RAH!

It works well when we work at making it work well.

AWWWW!

So quit whining and organize people to do something about it.

Hanging out on technical bulletin boards, spouting your political philosophy, doesn't fix much.
