Umm, no. Nozick made arguments in Anarchy, State, and Utopia that a least a minimal state would (re-)emerge. Not everyone has found his arguments persuasive.

And also, what you are calling government, isn't what everyone else calls government. That's why I gave you those references. You could find out what people mean by it. For example, look at footnote 1 in the following paper:

/Do Pessimistic Assumptions about Human Behavior Justify Government?/

-- Benjamin Powell and Christopher Coyne

Some consider that a polycentric legal order is not "government" because it is not a monopoly coercive force, at first cut. I gave you a link to the Barnett text for more discussion of polycentric legal order. But even with a few little examples you could cook up yourself, you would find that what you are casually calling "government" in these re-emergence cases, really isn't what the common person means when they say "the guvmint ought to do such and such." There is a critical difference.

The magic pixy dust is believing the guvmint can produce something for $5 that takes private industry $50. That magic pixy dust is believing that guvmint can actually solve social "problems," and even more outrageous, do it "fairly."

Coolidge said something like "a peoples problems are not eliminated by off-loading them to guvmint." He was right.

In any case, the /Pessimistic Assumptions/ paper linked above assumes bad behavior, not the magic behavior you refer too. This is endemic in the literature. The magic is between your ears.

The evidence shows the opposite.

What part of "never use" don't you understand?

Thanks, Rich

Her concern was that the calories from carbs were too low. When I could afford OJ, I didn't drink all at once, it was a little between bites and mixed with the other foods that I had for breakfast. In fact, it slowed the meal down.

What I mean is that he can eat whatever he wants, and learn that his hard and fast rules don't always apply. I have lots of people urging me to become a vegetarian "To feel better!". If I reduce the meat in my diet much I get VERY sick and so weak I can't even walk.

I can't eat rice anymore, because it isn't properly digested. It takes days to a week to pass though my digestive system, leaving me in pain the entire time. Some vegetables make me vomit minutes after I eat them, yet I used to eat them every week. The ones I can eat, I'm told not to. I've reached the point that I'm just going to do what works FOR ME, and ignore everyone else.

OK, you first. Diet and exercise is greeeeeaaaaat! I used to be on my feet up to 16 hours a day. I got mad when i was 20 years old and picked up a Pontiac 389 CID V8 short block. I could carry the old tube TV consoles up for flights of stairs, by myself. I hung 12' sheets of drywall by myself.

35 years later, I can barely stand, and I can't get help from the VA because Congress has decided that dental problems are not medical issues. You can diet and exercise all you want, but I'd like to see yo do your long walks with a cane, when you can't even feel it in your hand at times, and being so heat intolerant that you can't even go outside, some days. I didn't start putting on weight, till I got sick.

This is bogus reasoning. Who do you think "outed" her? Who blabbed about Brewster Jennings? Just because a charge has not yet been made does not prove that a crime did not exist. Besides obstructing justice even when there is no other crime is still a crime in and of its self.

No, it blood isn't. Try that one on a prosecutor some time and see how far that gets you.

So he shoudl have sat on what he knew. Who his wife was didn't need to come out in any rebuttal of his case.

No she bloody hadn't!

She and her boss both testified under oath that she was. She claimed to work for Brewster Jennings. This wsa a good cover for what she and many others really did.

There was a crime. Libby was found guilty of a crime. A jury disagrees with you.

Not everyone has found the round earth theory persuasive. Every time it is tried out, nobody sails off the edge. Simple real world examples show that that is exactly what happens.

This is getting to be like the two mathematicians:

You: I have found a proof of the Jones Conjecture Me: I have found a counter example You: That's ok I've got two proofs.

Simple real world evidence trumps a mass of theory.

I am getting tired of this so I'll stop here for now.

Going vedetarian and having diabeties would be a bad combination IMO. The place you can get your protein from always will carry a large carb hit. Also, your body can convert protein to sugar if it really needs to. Having extra protein allows your body to convert that instead of some that you may need for later.

Rice is also bad news on the carbs. For some reason it goes in very fast. You could try orzo in places where rice would normally be used. An oz of them is about 20g of carbs.

Do fresh raw carrots make your mouth burn?

It's clear that Plame was a piece-a-crap Democrat who sent her own husband to "find data", then lied about it, got "outed" by a PBS reporter, but was blamed on Scooter.

Get over it... Scooter walks ;-)

I suggest that you research "The Fabian Debating Society".

Wrong. Apartment dwellers do not pay property taxes, but they get much the same benifits that homeowners get. Taxes on your primary dwelling are wrong, they amount to denial of the concept of such ownership.

I think i love it better than you do. I am willing to try to tell it when is doing what i consider wrong.

Like I said in another post, the VA dietitian was quite happy with my diet. Its everyone else at the VA clinic and VA hospital who tell me its all wrong.

Rice was a side dish, usually only a tablespoon or two, a couple times a month. I used to use some in homemade vegetable soup, but I ended up switching to Barley.

I haven't had a raw carrot in 40 years, so I don't know. I can eat small amounts of them cooked, so I use them in homemade vegetable soup, along with peas, potatoes, tomatoes and green beans and barley.

I keep the sodium as low as I can afford to, and have very little fat in the diet. I trim the fat from the edges of meat before cooking. I don't use any butter or sauces (Other than Tomato for Chili) I have been buying the restaurant precooked meatballs for my Chili because the fat is almost all gone, and I don't have excess grease to get rid of.

They bought the house on purpose. My renters do pay the property taxes as part of the rent BTW. The police and fire departments protect that property that I bought so I do get a service and I did act of my own free will.

I don't like having to pay the property taxes but I am un willing to claim that they are in principle immoral.

Please ignore those others.

Barley is better is soup anyway.

There's nothing wrong with that soup.

Someone I work with quite suddenly started having trouble with raw carrots and then gradually other things. What ever he is reacting to is destroyed by cooking. I was thinking that maybe there were two people with the same problem.

Corn starch in place of flour makes the sauce look better when there is no fat in it. Also it takes much less to do the job.

I saw a thing many years back about cooked feeding parsnips into a blender and adding some spices to make a sauce. They claimed it tasted very good. I've never tried the idea.

I find that the turkey burger with some seasoning added works well.

All false.

Yes likely he does. In the long term the damage of that will be mostly to the republican party.

The standard, but totally incorrect argument... apartment OWNERS pay property taxes, and increase the rent to include that COST.

I don't really give a rat's ass what you think. It's true, and has finally been reported properly.

I don't know, looks to me like the DemocRats have completely done themselves in... Pelosi and Reid... such great Americans ;-)
