I've got that as well and used it a few times. I was quite surprised that even some large companies do not have such FTP areas. One actually installed that after the experience with my FTP.

Berkeley? Isn't that the town where they voted out cell towers because their contribution to the ether has been declared hazardous? Radio smog or some such nonsense. I wanted to make a call from there a couple months ago and could barely find a spot with one bar. Then someone explained to me why. Shook my head.

this is a condition is known as "Neptucucumberosis" - you get it if you eat Neptunian cucumbers (like the one on the photo). The main symptom is total failure of all your ftp sites...

Would you use the curvy part to id the substrate, or some sort of tub, or maybe just the physically lowest layer?

I tend to draw a curve on the minus of an electrolytic, or the lowest voltage on a nonpolar cap. My pcb layout guy of course strips that out.

For capacitors that are on a chip I have a number of different symbols, dependent on whether they are MOS, MOM (metal-oxide-metal), MIM (metal-insulator-metal), etc., so that I ensure the right plates get connected appropriately... my concern is strays that differ from plate-to-plate.

With all that globalization gone wild on a galactic scale nowadays what else are we supposed to expect... Good you did not eat one of these Betelgeusian potatos, though - that condition is said to have all your TCP connections reset after the 5-th outgoing byte for 3 months (I think it was called beteltcpiosis but I am not sure, I am not really familiar with all that medical stuff...).

I do the latter. But I've never seen a cap frowning as much as yours did. Mine only frown a wee bit.

To my surprise the German CAD I use came with all these symbols even though they are not DIN-compliant and poo-pooed on in Europe. And yeah, my logic symbols are still ye older roundish ones.
