I am looking for detailed electronic books on Video and digital video.... in reference to designing video capture and video generation etc.

Thanks for your suggestions in advance.

look for books by John Watkinson, for the basic digital video stuff, but they may be outdated these days, and expensive, with a lot of info just copied from one book too another

There is a lot of info on phillips semicondutor site

you just have to read the datasheets, and figure out all the registers For analogue video search for Ampex, Tektronixs and Rohde and Schwartz applications

Joe G (Home) scrobe on the papyrus:

"Video Demystified" by Keith Jack. ISBN 1-878707-09-4

My copy is 13 years old now and very tattered, but the principles haven't changed in the intervening years. There are new HDTV standards which are not included.

I agree. I have the third edition ISBN 1-878707-56-6. It does have a section on digital TV.

I found "Digital Video and HDTV Algorithms and Interfaces" by Charles Poynton. ISBN 1-55860-792-7 is very good too.
