Title says it all. U.S. is no longer competitive for this kind of work, not even close actually, just too many problems. And in Germany they don't have to worry about some backwater suicidal 5G conspiratorialist blowing up a switch center.

Will the campus be near mountains where wacked out germans crash passenger planes instead?

Dunno what that number refers to, but their annual R&D runs around $10B.

Big problem with putting money into EU plant - if they want the stuff it's making later on they just change the rules and won't let you export it. As UK is finding with money put into developing Dutch plant for vaccines.

As in the US. Basically, the 'big guys' will just steal your stuff if they think they need it. You'll probably get it back or some compensation when they feel like it.
