I'd go with the lies. Trump is very fond of misleading people, ,and his medical team isn't going to risk upsetting him by not going along with the story he wants to tell.

If they were lying about Trump's treatment to please Trump they would tell everyone he was being treated with hydroxychloroquine and improving tremendously... or oral doses of bleach... either one.
