Thirty years ago, I was the 'Toy Man' at our local Sears while getting my BS. One toy we loved were the little battery powered cars and planes that ran on tracks. They made great displays, lots of noise and action. The kids would stop and watch, the parents would stop and watch. We sold plenty of them.
Kids took them home, put them together, watched for five minutes, got bored, and never played with them again... 8-)
However, we couldn't keep the new Star Wars action figures on the shelves!
