I had an avocado green matched set dating back to the '70s. The washer died about 15 years ago. The dryer died 3 years ago. Both replaced with Speed Queen appliances.
Back when I bought the washer, I went looking for a stainless steel tub. I'm always leaving a wrench in a pocket and chipping the porcelain. SS was available in high end machines and Speed Queen, which also supplied laundromats.
