Wiring from a ground symbol to a port name, the "zero" node effect is lost, giving "floating node" errors and all kinds of nonsensical grief.
Cured by inserting a zero-volt voltage source:
----.---------(=)-----> GND __|__ --- -
I have a small "(=)" symbol which netlists as a zero-volt voltage source that I use to make node-name-to-node-name connections without losing the uniqueness of each name.
