Medion mobile phones

The Medion E4002 (MD 98388)

Not a bad little phone, BUT the battery is pretty hopeless, doesn't last that long, and costs $49 for a new battery and no one I can find supplies non genuine batterys.

I tried pretty much all of them. Tried E4002 and returned it. Now I got the P4502, which is a crap phone. Crappy reception, severely cut down features, etc etc.

Does it have the same (sign all your rights away and give them the right to do what they want with your particulars)like lg before you can use the phone?

What someone else remembers about his lg. " User must agree to privacy policy to continue using the device.

In order to improve the user experience, LG will monitor how I use the device, how I interact with it, what apps I use, when I use them, how I use them, etc. Commands, including voice commands.

LG will record my location data. It will also record whatever wireless networks are in the vicinity, including WiFi, Bluetooth, and cellular. It will record which of those networks I am using, and it will attempt to use signal strength, in addition to GPS, to pinpoint my location.

LG will monitor my viewing content. It will also collect the "metadata" of all the files in internal storage. I think it also said something about recording the subject type of online and offline material.

LG will record the urls of the websites I visit, as well as recipients of my e-mails (and whoever e-mails me, though I'm not sure if it said it would collect the contents of those e-mails).

LG will have access to my contact list, collect whatever names, numbers, and e-mail addresses are stored within. My social media use will also be monitored.

LG will have access to my passwords, and answers to security questions.

LG will estimate number of calories burned. (Which is why I thought it was a joke, but apparently the thing can act as a pedometer.)

User must be 13 or older to consent to the privacy policy, or consent from user over 13, but consent MUST be granted in order to continue using the LG device.

Another section says that any claims against LG must be filed individually and not part of a class action lawsuit.

Later I did a search on this and found something that sounded almost identical to a mandatory agreement involving LG "smart" televisions in

2014, but nothing about the G3 or other phones. I recall there was a a major uproar over the TV policy and LG backed off, so I'm thinking the G3 shipped with the same policy embedded in ROM and LG then turned it off, and some bug made it appear. But if it does reappear I am going to return the thing for a refund. The salesman kept bragging about app this and app that, but he never told me the damn thing was Orwell's Telescreen. "

Yeah, they won't discuss it on the phone, but are happy to give you the price in an email. That's where I got the $49 from.

That's an insane price, oo.com will sell you a refurb full phone and accessorys for $86

Yep "sign of the times" We are all being spied on. Went a bit far when anyone locally and internationally can give your ISP a IP number and a time and they have to provide your name and address and all details! Have enough trouble with my name in the "White Pages" and getting a lot of convincing calls trying to get bank account details. Reached the point where I don't really want a landline phone.

Which one tho, E4002 or E400 ?

There are some pictures of the battery in the google search so I will compare it with the battery in the medion. It belongs to one of the turks, so I can't check what it looks like or what model number it has on the battery right now.

Yeah, did find that one myself, but couldn't find anyone offering batterys for it.

Couldn't find any specs for it either to compare with the specs of the Medion to see if its accurate.

Quite a few I know have given up on their landline now, just have mobiles. And some don't have any phone on their landline they have to have for their ADSL service, because the spam calls are a complete pain in the arse.

Just had someone who didn't realise they had a landline when they wanted to complain to Telstra about a problem with their adsl service and don't have a Telstra mobile to call Telstra from. He borrowed a handset from work to call Telstra for the cost of a local call.

Yes I also are reluctant to remove my name from "white pages" as still get overseas straglers trying to contact me! Much easier for me to call via Skype even Mobile and I do even local calls!

"LG E4002"

"LG E4002"

Seems many complained about faults with that Aldi Medion Mobile so maybe can't be got, except for $49 Medion themselves plus postage!

Your local calls would be timed though.

In my case yes 2 cents a minute worldwide for landline 50 cent local is 25 minutes via Skype.

No more charges if you pay au$123 a year for connecting to/for landline's or mobiles worldwide. Clearer than a analogue landline.

Just so much easier for me to use Skype on both SmartPhone and Computer also because I use an encrypted VPN I cannot be bugged/deciphered as yours is/can (My computer device, only, decrypts, not likely anyone else can)

My neighbour embezzled $2.5 million from NSFB, in ICAC investigation he denied making statements on his mobile to another crim, ICAC played a recording back to him asking him, "Is this not you", he was gob smacked! Same happened to a lawyer corrupting the course of justice. ICAC played her recorded mobile conversation back as well.

Yes but you are paying for data on both your home and smartphone. Mobile data is particularly expensive.

Also, when using Skype you have to make all calls at your computer. You can't walk around the house on a cordless phone.

You sound a bit paranoid. What have you got to hide? Most people are not worried about their phone conversations ending up in court.

Not just overseas stragglers, anyone who say loses their phone and needs to get me to do something about getting it blocked etc.

Not if your phone has been stolen etc.

There is no such animal. There is an E400 tho and it does have the same ma capacity. I should be seeing the physical phone tomorrow or in a day or so.

Yeah, never found anyone claiming that it's the same battery as in anything else. Time will tell if I can find one yet. I find it hard to believe that its got a unique battery, but that's certainly possible.

That isn't available anymore.

I don't get any difference.
