WD40 on phone

Jul 08, 2005 2 Replies

Someone's sprayed WD 40 on a mobile phone and now it works, but does not pick up any sound.

Its an older Nokia. Any clues on how to fix this appreciated.

Thanks

Check and replace the mic, and speaker elements as necessary. Clean off all the WD-40 from any surfaces, including the circuit boards. If any got in to the critical tuned circuits such as the stripline area, this will not be feasibly serviceable.
