Resistor identification

Hi,

I got some metal firm resistors and the last color code is green. Brown color represent 1% and how about the green color, will it be 0.5% or 0.1%.

Thanks

Eric

0.1%.

According to this chart,

, the green band for tolerance indicates plus or minus .5%

Should be .5% for a 4-band resistor, as seen here:

Also keep in mind that a 5th band can denote quality (failure rate in % per

1000 hrs). At 1% and better, resistor manufacturers usually include a temperature spec (ppm/deg.C) as temp changes can easily throw low-tolerance R's out of range. And an R can have a 5th white band to indicate milspec leads, as seen here:

Vishay makes R's as tight as .001% tolerance!
