Loudoun County authorities are investigating an armed robbery of the Round Hill Mini-Mart on Wednesday night. A man entered the Main Street business about 9 p.m. and approached the counter as if to make a purchase. Instead, he brandished a firearm and demanded cash. He was last seen fleeing the store and entering the passenger side of what might have been a blue Ford Ranger driven by another man. The suspect was described as a white male in his early 20s, six feet tall and wearing a white shirt, black pants, a baseball hat and sunglasses. The Loudoun County Foster Care and Adoption Program is seeking adults who are interested in becoming foster parents. "The children who come into foster care range in age from infants to teenagers, and they come from diverse backgrounds. But what they all share is the need to have a safe and stable environment," said Paulette S. Bird, the program's manager. "Foster parents really have the opportunity to make a difference not only in a child's daily life, but also their future." The Department of Family Services holds informational meetings about the foster care and adoption program on the second Tuesday of each month.
