Crate by name ...

Triple footswitch , no name , no ratings on switches, GFX 65, 1999. Impossible to use as a mind of its own which channel it wanted to be in. On resistance anywhere between 200 ohm and 100K on each of them. At least easy enough to get inside them, dissolve away the grease and deburr the rough edges and put back together again

Have you come across any Waller guitar amps? I bought one of the original model DSP-100 2x12 combos several years ago after a raving review of a friend on how well the thing sounded for a solid state amp. It does in fact sound really good but not as good as my Fender Twin modded to blackface specs. One problem I had right away was some digital noise from the built in DSP unit. I emailed Buck Waller (formerly with Rocktron and the founder of ISP) and he turned me over to their tech staff. I advised them of my credentials and they allowed me to do my own factory warranty modification of the DSP grounding :)

One disappointing thing about the amp is the lack of discrete components for the PA. I don't remember the exact TDA number but it is an 8 legger SIP MOSFET with staggered pins. I don't know why it disappoints I guess I'm just used to seeing a quad of Motorola TO3 pairs in a 100 watt amp. The chip is only capable of 80 watts RMS into 4 at the rail voltage supplied in this particular amp so I though the ads for a 100 watt amp were a little misleading. However the amp is much lighter than my Twin Reverb, has British styled speakers and a closed back amongst other things like fully active tone controls and built in DSP effects making it a good choice for small - medium clubs. I once used it outdoors in the summer heat and it did have a problem with the output fluttering in some kind of thermal protection clamping (the only way I can describe it) but overall I've had very good results with it.
